How to Choose Reading Glasses

Reading glasses come in two styleshalf-eyes and full frame glasses.

Half-eyes sit down on your nose and you look down through them as you read, whereas full frame eye glasses cover the entire eye so when you look up you will see through them as well. Full frame reading glasses are good for people who spend a lot of time reading close-up materials, including computer screens, books and other things.

However, it is important to note that if you get up and try to see something across the room it will be blurry and you will have to take your glasses off. If you plan to use your reading glasses for short-term reading or for sitting down with a book then half-eyes frames are great because when you look up to see distances you wont be looking through the glasses. More advanced options for reading eye glasses include bifocals or progressive lenses with no prescription on top.
You can purchase ready made reading glasses from a pharmacy or you can buy custom-made glasses based on a prescription given to you by an optometrist.
